who should apply to the program?

Students: You’ll be donating your time to develop a technology solution for a non-profit in need. We’ll provide all the resources you’ll need to succeed, including workshops, mentorship, and sisterhood!

What’s a volunteer-ship?

We select two types of partners: program sponsors and program partners.

Program sponsors are companies with shared values to us that have space, technology expertise, and monetary capabilities to help us run our program.

Program partners are non-profits in need of help building out technological solutions.

What kinds of companies are we looking for?

We seek out companies with like-minded missions to ours, empowering girls to change the world, to provide spaces for us to conduct our programming in as well as connect with employees who share our desire to inspire the next generation of female technologist.

We are always looking for companies to work with.

How do we select program sponsors?

what is the STUDENT application process like?

Students who are first or second years fill out an application that entails answering questions that gauge technology experiences and desire to participate in a tech for social good project. This application is followed up with an interview.

what is the partner application process like?

We require program partners fill out an application describing the technology project and outlining a main point of contact for the project. We also ask for partners to fill out a product requirements document to give us a better sense of the scope and feasibility of the technology ask.

What skills are needed?

The WIT Project was founded with the idea that students need to be given more opportunity to develop their tech skills prior to declaring a major. We have no required skills for our students, just proof of an aptitude and desire to learn to code and develop technical projects.
